The focus of criticism is alleged greenwashing with climate certificates. Quote: &#8220;Billions in tax money are to be used to &#8216;reforest&#8217; Brazil, which is supposed to bind CO<sub>2<\/sub>. This is supposed to compensate for CO<sub>2<\/sub>emissions. But research shows that nature is not being reforested, but destroyed for huge eucalyptus- plantations.&#8221; There is no question that abuses must be named. Overall, however, GES believes that the ARD&#8217;s portrayal is one-sided and biased. We actually see great opportunities in Brazilian forest plantations as part of a comprehensive transformation strategy.
