Dr Manfred Schroeder received his doctorate from the University of Göttingen in 1978 and subsequently worked as a post-doc at the Sorbonne in Paris. Fields of research: Molecular and laser physics. At Metallgesellschaft and Kraftwerk Union, he managed various projects in the fields of renewable energies, reactor safety and M&A for laser technology. From 1988, he worked in the sensor technology division of Hartmann & Braun GmbH, including as head of the analytical technology division and as a member of the management board. Since 1998, he has been the sole managing director of EBARA Precision Machinery Europe, a subsidiary of EBARA Corporation. Since 2016, he has worked as an advisor to the Board of Directors of EBARA Corporation, including in the field of hydrogen. At the same time, he was politically involved in various leading functions of the CDU Economic Union and the Economic Council of Hesse in the field of energy and the environment, including as ‘Spokesman for Corporate Networks’. Since 2020, he has been a lecturer in social sciences in the adult education department at the University of Frankfurt with a lecture series on ‘Energy and the Environment’.
