The German energy transition is in urgent need of correction. The search for cost-optimised solutions is an absolute must in order to keep losses in prosperity to a minimum. What is needed: technological openness and a global perspective.
Global Energy Solutions has summarised its recommendations in an 8-point programme.
- Electricity prices must be competitive again and electricity must be reliably available at all times in the long term
- New photovoltaic and wind power plants must be able to hold their own without subsidies.
- Fossil-fuelled power plants must be made climate-friendly by means of CO2 capture.
- Seize the opportunity of German natural gas!
- Only use hydrogen for cost-efficient applications.
- CO2-neutral fuels for energy-intensive industry and mobility.
- Consider a return to nuclear energy.
- Market-based solutions instead of bans and excessive bureaucracy.
