Global stocks of spent nuclear fuel are growing steadily—in Europe as well as in the U.S. and increasingly in Asia. At the same time, nuclear energy is regaining importance in numerous countries. While final disposal solutions are already well advanced in some countries , in many others, reliable geological repositories are still years or decades away.
Against this backdrop, the event aims to provide a technically sound overview of current international developments. How significant is the global challenge? What role does interim storage play? And what technological innovations could contribute to increased energy yield as well as a significant reduction in waste volumes, radiotoxicity, and required storage periods? How should these developments be viewed from a political perspective?
We would be delighted to welcome you as a guest at the event.
